They're ... outstanding. Yes, outstanding is a safe word.
    How about unparalleled?

I have to say that, although I love the Bacon-Western-Cheeseburger from Carl's Jr., their commercials are disgusting. I cannot stand to see people eat, especially like that. If I had had to watch that woman eat, I would have been ralphing out the window.

I've got an IHOP within walking distance and a Sonic about 1.5 miles away (love the Ocean Water). We've got a Red Robin, again walking distance, and I had a really good burger there.

We also get commercials for Ruby Tuesday and the closest one is in Las Cruces, 225 mi. south of here. And my parents love to point this out to me....until I remind them we have Copeland's and Garduño's (excellent northern New Mexican food).

I just realized just how many good restaurants I have within a mile radius of my apartment.

Lucky. I have to drive to get anywhere that's not campus or housing or overpriced Mom-n-Pop markets (that have such delicious soda and snacks that grocery stores don't carry; how evil!).

No sign of Sonic around these parts (CT), but we've got an IHOP down toward Sam's Club and a Ruby Tuesday's over by Target. Good stuff.

I live within a mile of a mall, and one side is nothing but restaurants.

I, too, cannot stand Carl's Jr commercials. They're just disgusting. Not as disgusting as Quiznos commercials, but almost.

Isn't chili and cheese what makes a hotcog into a Coney
Probably. I never really encountered the word until that night at Sonic's or outside of a Sonic's since. Figured it was just a fancy word for Hotdog, to be honest.

The Chili Cheese Shake tastes terrible, by the way. Cold chili and cheese, mixed into lukewarm milkshake. Really really not a good idea.

What really struk me as odd, though, was that the staff at sonic's didn't bat an eye when I ordered the Chili Cheese Shake, but had to confirm three times and gave me funny looks when I ordered a Strawberry Watermelon Rootbeer.

Ya know, this is getting kind of scary. You and I seem to have a tendency to think alike to begin with. Now this....I live within a mile of a mall and one side is nothing but restaurants, too!

Does your restaurant row include an Outback Steakhouse, Marie Calendar's, and a Red Lobster?

I think I also have just about every type of fast food chain that operates out here within a 2 or 3 mile radius of my house.

There's an Outback, but the Marie Calendar's closed some time ago. Red Lobster is over on the other side of the mall, along with Olive Garden and Chuck E. Cheese.

Over where Outback is, is Zio's, Lone Star, Red Robin, Copeland's, Garduños. At the intersection of Coors and Alameda is Wendy's and Mickey D's. Literally across the street from me, which makes it very dangerous is Flying Star http://www.flyingstarcafe.com/ (They have the best burger: cooked the way you want with bacon, swiss, and blue cheese, drool.)

And then there's a lot of other various and sundry small mom'n'pop local eateries. I'm very lucky to have moved over here just before everything started to explode on the Westside.

Okay, coming into this thread late, but SO and I were at Sonic last night. I got just a regular burger with tots and I couldn't even finish the burger. I had to give it to SO. I forgot how big they were.

I mentioned to him about this thread and how many the person had. Even he knows he can't eat that many.
                    Random conversation:
Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
                    DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

ew.....I mean, Sonic burgers are great, but....barf....

(I grew up in Texas, where Sonics are everywhere. Then i moved to Socal where they do not exist! Everyone goes to In-N-Out, which I find disgusting. FINALLY found a single Sonic drive-in, and it's only a few blocks from where I work! My co-workers routinely give me coupons for Sonic, and tease me about how much I like it.)

Oooh, you have an Olive Garden close? Ours is a few miles away at a different mall.

The local mall also has: Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, Black Angus Steakhouse, Fuddruckers, Chili's Grill & Bar, Souplantation, Boston Market, Round Table Pizza (the best pizza in the area, but 'spensive), East Side Mario's, Super Mex Restaurant, Hometown Buffet, Tokyo Hibachi, Elephant Bar, Mimi's Cafe, Arby's, Red Robin, El Torito Mexican Grill, and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Then, across the street from there, we've got a Chuck E Cheese, Togo's, and some Chinese buffet that I don't know the name of, but which is rather tasty.

We've got an Alameda Street here, but it's in the other direction, and there are not really any food places on it. Well, not that I know of. They made it nearly impossible to navigate onto or off of in preparation for making it a transportation corridor for large truck traffic to get them off the 710 freeway, but as far as I can tell, it was a total failure and they gave up. Makes me feel sorry for the people whose businesses they ruined by making it impossible to get to them. It used to be a major road. Now it's just a hassle.

The only people i've seen eat like that have bulimia.

That is so not healthy, whatever her reason for eating that way it can't possibly feel good to eat like that.

given the description, i don't think bulimia's the problem, gluttony, however...

i pass on the in n out urge; i ate there once after moving to so cal; it left me considerably less than unimpressed.

Yeah. A lot of buffet eaters run into this when they pile everything on during their first pass.

                                ^-.-^
Tell me about it. My grandfather hated buffet restaurants, because he always got mad watching people like the woman in this thread and others that would weigh 500 plus pounds, go up to the buffet, and load their plates five feet high, sometimes five and six trips up there! And, when they got back to their table, they were eating like a nuclear bomb was going off tomorrow and this was the end of the world. I mean, damn! My stomach could never hold that much food in one sitting.

And, how a woman can wolf down nine burgers in a couple of minutes is beyond imagination.
