I'd better not wear my Requiem T-Shirt in your neighborhood, then..."I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question."

Quoth Gerrinson View PostI work at a colonial inn in a small New England town. Which, obviously, is bound to be targeted by terrorists.
Sick little thoughts like this help make me a better GM, and keep my players on their toes.
But with the lady in the OP, yeah, someone is a little too into their TV.The Rich keep getting richer because they keep doing what it was that made them rich. Ditto the Poor.

Quoth Geek King View PostA little OT, but this statement just makes me nuts everytime someone says it. If I were some psycho nutcase bent on using terror as a weapon to get my point accross, a small town is exactly where I would hit. What better way to screw with someone's mind than to prove that, yes, it can happen where you live, no matter the size. Sure, you wouldn't kill many people, but you'd scare a lot more than one big attack, especially if you could pull off several locations in diverse places.

Quoth Samaliel View PostYeah... Terrorists, these days... They don't care about striking fear in the enemy any more. They're just trying to make a point that they can hit you, no matter how well protected you think you are...
Also, what ever happened to quality, not to mention pride in your work? Give me half the resources these guys are supposed to have and I could have most of the first world pissing themselves inside a month....WHY DO YOU TEMPT WHAT LITTLE FAITH IN HUMANITY I HAVE!?! -- Kalga

Quoth auntiem View PostGerrinson - if you are in the town I think you are, my sister jokes that there are two main employers there and sometimes you can't tell the difference between the employees of one and the residents of the other.
And Geek King, I totally agree that you're correct. I thought Tom Clancy's novel with Jack Ryan's son as the main character was pretty on target with a good way to strike fear into people: a few guys letting loose in some random mall with some automatic weapons. But attacking given the way the jihadists think, I doubt they would hit here. Jihadists hit the big cities where it'll make a huge splash and panic the millions that live there. Hitting a town of a couple thousand isn't their style; the potential body count just isn't high enough.

I was walking around in Wal-Mart, but I was just browsing (I refuse to buy anything from Wal-Mart because they put so many people out of work. Unless I need to.). I heard over the P.A. " Will the tall Caucasian man wearing the shirt with the satanic message about dragons on it please come to the front of the store." I facepalm, because I was wearing my DragonForce shirt. I go to the front desk and ask what the problem is. The woman who reported me says, "There! There he is! Arrest him!" The people at the front desk just burst out laughing. The shirt looks like it does in this picture:http://dragonforce.shop.bravadousa.c...99&pc=BGCTDG15 .
