What used to really get under my skin when hostessing at both restaurants were parents of small children who'd come in and I'd say "Three tonight?" and they'd go "Two and a half! What saddens me is wondering what the rest of the kid's life is like, is this is what mom or dad thinks of them (meaning the thread in general, not so much just the OP)? You have to imagine they may not have ... the best self image.
