Deliberately sucking rip-off artists

My wife was at the Bargin Shop yesterday. It was a few minutes before closing, and there was only one till open, and she was stuck behind a a couple of asshats who spent a good 10 minutes arguing with the clerk about the price of every single item. (They lost )

When my wife's turn came the clerk mentioned that he'd seen the same sort of behaviour at every store he had worked at: People that come in just before closing and argue over the prices, counting on the fact that the clerk wants to get the h*** out of there and just go home and therefore will cave in on their demands just to be rid of them so he can go home.

Sad thing is, it doesn't have to be when a store is closing. Complain loudly enough and long enough, and you will eventually get your way. In many instances, anyway. Most employees/managers figure a couple bucks isn't worth the aggravation. Unfortunately, this only encourages such behavior to continue.
