I had to take my mom for some blood work yesterday. It's suppose to be a 2 hour procedure, we get there at 8:20, the apt. time was 8:30 and we don't leave till 12:30. The nurses were super nice to us though. And it was obvious they were doing their job, not goofing off. Mom even said, "those nurses don't even take a break."
Anyway, we get there and there are two men. One looked like a homeless guy who takes baths. He had one crutch, and he was asleep.
Anyway, one point he wakes up and asks where the bathroom was. Then he asks if he can take a cigeretter break. The nurses tell him if he leaves then he will lose his turn, but he said that was ok. That was around 10:30.
Around 11 I go to get something to eat. I get to the cafeteria as he enters. He putzes around, finally gets some chicken wings. I get my food and the nurses told me I could bring it back to the room, so back I go with the food.
I guess around 11:15 the guy with the crutch shows up and sits down. I hear one of the nurses say, "I'm not letting him leave again, he said he went to smoke a cigerette and he was gone for 15 min!" So I pipped up "I saw him in the cafeteria eating." Yes, none of my business but the nurses were probably worried about what mess he might have gotten into.
