  • shuttle driver makes me miss my flight

I had a reservation on the shuttle bus to O'Hare at 1:15, so when it wasn't there at 1:30 I called and asked for an ETA. The lady on the phone talked to dispatch and the driver drove past my stop because i was at the bottom of the list and they had a really big load(don't know if he was just too stupid to read the list or if he sold the seat) so I had to wait for the next bus and ended up stuck in traffic and missed my flight to Seattle. The ticket agent put me on a flight to *state hub* with a connection to *hometown*(at no extra cost, Alaska Airlines FTW) but since that flight was late I had missed the last flight into *hometown* and ended up stuck at *state hub* for 6 hours and since that flight also had a delay(I've flown 4 long distance round trips and this is the first time i've ever had a delay with them, I guess when it rains it pours) I ended up getting home 8 hours later than I was supposed to

Now that is major suck. I hope you called the shuttle company and let them know about this guy's SNAFU.

I hate O'Hare. Granted, I hate airports in general, but O'Hare has a special brand of suck. As the hubby and I were flying home from the honeymoon, O'Hare changed our gate three times in an hour. The only (marginal) saving grace was the Macaroni Grill with their nummy fettuccini.

        Ah, Chicao O'Hat^Hre airport.

The single worst airport that I have ever experienced for on-time anything.

Every time I have been there, my flights have been delayed. One time, coming back from Alaska, my flight was delayed an hour getting into O'Hare (which was spent circling overhead before we finally got clearance to land). I had an hour layover. You know how the flight attendants will announce connecting gates? Mine wasn't even announced.

Got out, asked, turns out my plane is still at the gate. I had no idea I could run that fast. So, I raced there, got on board my plane, and then sat in my seat as the plane sat on the tarmac for another hour waiting for clearance to take off.

I hate O'Hare. I won't go through it if I can avoid it.

Fortunately I've never had to go through O'Hare.

It's always my final destination or departure point... and I've never had a single problem with it. Might be because I generally only fly on the puddle-jumpers that handle the routine commuter flights, though.

Ihave to admit......I like O'Hare. Yes it is freakin' huge, but i've flown to, or through O'Hare 30-40 times. The airport that to me is the biggest PITA is Atlanta.

salt lake can be a pretty big PITA too... without fail if you are switching from a long distance to a regional or visa versa you will end up having to go from E903456 to B106 (OK, only a slight exageration... but E concourse does go up to 70 something and every time I have relatives pass through Salt Lake on their way to visit family in Reno or Eureak CA they end up getting the last gate in E concourse going to the furthest gate in B concourse... with only a half hour layover).

Isn't that a Murphy's Law??.......The shorter your layover, the further away your connecting gate will be.

I am fortunate that I fly out of probably one of the easiest airports to negotiate that there is..... Kansas City International.

I wouldnt. Especially as an emergency travel agent located where Delta's SECOND biggest hub (after yours) is.

pst... that would be Delta's third largest hub (atlanta is number one, we're number two... and apparently ohio is number 3)

My Family was on vacation. When we headed home we took the airport shuttle.
It started to seem like the trip was taking longer to get to the airport. Couple of passengers noticed that the driver had a map. We asked him and he admitted he was new and had no clue on how to get to the airport. He ended pulling over and had to radio in for directions. About half the shuttle missed their flights.

I don't blame the driver as much as the company that he worked for. I would think "class on where the airport is" would be pretty much a given but I guess not.
