That honestly makes no sense to me.

You shouldn't be setting your clock ahead at all.

This is how Wikipedia describes it:

So in the Spring, we completely skip the hour of 2:00am-3:00am (clock goes directly from 1:59am to 3:00am), in the Fall, we repeat the hour of 2:00am-3:00am (clock goes from 2:59am back to 2:00am [or from 1:59am back to 1:00am, not quite sure which hour we actually repeat]).

    Does that help?

In the Fall we go from 1:59am back to 1:00am the following minute. Hence the term, "Fall back."

In the Spring we go from 1:59am forward to 3:00am the following minute. Hence the term, "Spring forward."

So, the person who set their clock forward this past Saturday (technically Sunday morning) would actually be arriving everywhere 2 hours early... sucks to be them.

I hate the whole clock changing thing and timezones. I see no problem with the whole world using UTC or GMT (whichever one doesn't change with the seasons). I would have no problem saying that my workday starts at 03:00 and local noon is at 04:00. People act as if changing the clock actually changes the length of a day. Jeez.

I don't get DST either. Presently it just seems like a pointless annoyance.

The next day (after the change), it's 10:00pm in "real life" and 9:00pm in "yesterday's old life". So didn't we actually set our clocks ahead?
No, after the fall DST, when it is 10pm in "real life" It would have been 11pm in the "old life."

Bless you! Now it totally makes sense. I've always set the clocks before I go to bed so if I look at it from doing it after the fact, it totally makes sense!

I've been doing it bassackward all these years!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now can you teach me to drive?

              i thought hawaii too...
I'd argue that while Hawaii is part of the United States of America, it is not part of North America. Certainly if I get off the one continent I can find plenty of places that don't care for it either.
