      This is why my mom would not allow my grandmother to buy me video games (I was let loose to roam a mall by myself at age 9; both of them knew they could find me in the arcade or glued to the Game Boy kiosk). Granted, ultraviolent games (well, some had 16-bit 'blood' which doesn't really count) and the rating system didn't exist then, but we were positive she would buy me My Little Pony or somesuch crap when what I really wanted was Zelda or Metroid.
