I have a tolltag and used to take the George Bush turnpike to work and back all the time.
I don't believe I ever saw anyone actually run a toll, but I did quite often see cops right before, or right after a toll plaza, just waitin for someone to do it. I can't count the number of times I saw them further on down, with someone pulled over already.
To go through the unattended tag lanes, you weren't required to slow down at all (or at least, no one ever did, and the cops didn't care). Sometimes I'd go through a regular lane just to double check the positioning of my tolltag (the adhesive was bad on the velcro, wouldn't stick, so I had to find a safe place to put it) and also, the remaining balance. Tolltag doesn't auto-refill, it's kinda like one of those prepaid credit cards. You have to load it up once in a while.
