Well, I did put my head against the case and facepalm pretty much every time she hmmed and awwwed and couldn't remember if she liked lettuce or not. I didn't look to see if the three women behind the counter were laughing or not...I think they were too busy wishing I would have smacked her head into something.

All I can think now is thank God that the dad-figure must have some kind of brain, since the little girl with her, even at her young age, seemed to be fully aware that Mommy was a complete moron.

Sigh, not that glamorous. It's not as though I'm fighting away hoards. About three or four times per summer at the custard stand someone will hit on me, and they're usually drunk and at least ten years older than me. It's not that frequent, but it's so consistent that I can't help but notice the pattern. I may not date much, but do I put out some signal of desperation that makes strange people think "I've totally got a shot at him!"
