I wish that I knew how to post pics of Oreo so you could see him. If some one had done that to my cat they would have had some pretty nasty injuries because he would have attacked them. He is afraid of strangers and it has taken a lot of work to get him to tolerate other people let alone strangers and he will still come up and bite me or attack my feet. My mom gave him the nickname Bucky (cookies if you get the reference) and he lives up to it.

I had visions of my Asha's (her kitten picture is my avatar) reaction. Her reaction to the cat carrier being opened in a strange place is to climb up the first thing she see's as fast as possible. I have learned to sit down next to the examine table before opening the cage at the vets or I very quickly have an 8 pound cat trying to get balanced on the top of my head. Since paw to tail she stretches out to about three feet long she can very easily reach as high as she needs to to get enough of a purchase to scramble up almost anything very quickly. Good news, with that reaction is she will practically jump into the vets arms in an attempt to get higher in the room. Bad news, if a stranger was to open her cage they would get very scratched up by her very sharp claws as she climbed up with no regard for skin or clothes.

If someone had tried that with my poor Neko I would have quickly found my Doom Voice and used it on them. With possible shoving. NO ONE messes with my Neko-chan!

One time when I was trying to get him into his crate at my moms place he did the velosoraptor (sp?) off of my chest. My mom caught him and stared at me in shock as I calmly look down at the bleeding cuts and go, "Well that was painful." then helped her trap him in his carrier and go to the bathroom to clean up. It was one of my "Huh, well here's something painful and/or horrible, so I'm going to be really calm and detached about it." moments.
