My default attire includes a 'fishing' vest... (possibly relevant, but probably not.)

I have been asked where stuff is/otherwise treated as an employee in at least the following stores:

    Best Buy
    Fry's Grocery (local Krogers brand)
Borders Books (while standing looking though a large illustrated book)
WalMart (multiple times, none while wearing a blue shirt. My vest is beige.)
Osco Drugs (Multiple times. This one is almost understandable, since I worked for the company at the time. However, the times I count are when I was working in the office, or when I was not in my store. [I don't count all the times when I was at my store, but not working, and did not have anything indicating I was an employee on...])
    Albertson's

I have worked retail at B. Dalton, WalMart, and Osco. I think there is something that sticks with you after working retail...

Try to look as innocent as possible when saying it.
      You know me.

      Do I EVER look innocent?

        Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

        Good point.

        How about a straight face?
        I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

2 different hormones at work: the "retail" hormone, and the "competence" hormone.

A double whammy that will follow you for the rest of your life. I've been out of retail for over 25 years now, and I still get stopped in stores and asked for help!
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.

It's kind of like how a starving person can smell food a long way off, the clueless can smell someone with a clue from quite a distance.
