See what always gets me when buying cloths is that because of my chest not oing past my stomach...well okay it's better then what it was.... All shirt I buy if they aren't long will show a line of skin between the hem and the jeans. I talked to one seamstress about this and she just sighed and said she gets asked that a lot.

And I just noticed that my g doesn't like to work right now...forgive the lack of g if I miss fixing a word.

But I will try a couple places people have pm'd me and just want some of you to know that this amuzed me more then hurt me. Sure it stung at first but unfortunatly I get to go in their Monday morning to drop off the mail. Dam there oes my saying to not come back. Or does it not count?

There's simply no excuse to make comments about one's weight (unless one is a doctor and then it's only in relation to health/medical discussion.)

seconded-and this goes both ways-I've had some really hurtful things said to me about my weight/size-and don't comment because "OMG, you're thin, it shouldn't bother you!"

no being called a "stick", "twig", "poster child for an eating disorder", "skinny mini" or any other name is is soooo much less hurtful than being called any of their counterparts in opposition.(for the record I spent 7 years battling an eating disorder-weighed less than 80 pounds at one point, I'm 5'5"-I still struggle with it from time to time, but I'm getting better)

Sorry I've never mentioned size because hey as long as you're happy and healthy-why is it any of my business*, and if you're not happy or healthy-that's on you to change-but please don't do it by stooping to the level of those that hurt you. I could easily start with the name calling right back at those who have said awful things to me-but that would be wrong, and two wrongs do not make a right(but 3 lefts do!)

*though I do wish clothing manufacturers would make an array of styles that flatter different body types-yup I'm thin, but I have no chest, you think I can find a swimsuit that fits-nope, and most shirts hang off me in ways I don't like and that look horrible.

Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

I feel you. I am no longer "big" as it were (I'm down to a 12 and am debating where to go from that), but when I was 13/14 (before my accident), I was a 18 and a 42DD(I have a big back and come from strong stock [as you'll see in a second], but the tata size confused even me). My mom and I went to JCPenney at our local mall to try and find a bra for me, because I really needed one and had refused to wear one until that point.

The salesgirl we had was not helpful, and seemed more interested in smacking her gum. She also ended up with one less tooth after that day, because my mother went into "mama bear mode" after the salesgirl made me cry. How did the salesgirl accomplish this?

She gave me a nursing bra. 13/14 and she gave me a nursing bra. It upset me, you know? Looking back, I still don't find it funny. You can tell I'm young, and the salesgirl even even asked me how old I was during a brief flicker of interest. So it's not an 'honest mistake.' I didn't even look pregnant.

My mother sees the exchange(she was coming back from finding me some bras that actually looked cute, and wanted to show them to me), and, forgetting all form of polite society manners(we're from the south, originally), slaps the salesgirl so hard she knocks out a tooth (I actually saw the tooth fly).

I know it wasn't right of my mom to do. And just to clarify, it was the first, and thus far, last incident where my mother ever slapped a salesgirl. Normally she's so sugary-sweet you want to get her out off your line before she comes into contact with water and melts.

I am also a larger sized woman and I used to hate buying bras because I could never get one that was comfortable but I found that sports bras are awesome. I bought some last year and I absolutely love them!! They are so comfortable and I don't have to worry about the straps falling down or the hooks coming out and stabbing me. They stretch just enough to get on and they conform enough to keep me from jiggling all over.

What the fuck? I hope her ass got fired. She's discriminating agaisnt you because of your size, but she needs to check herself, because she's a superficial bitch.

The only time I could see this as an acceptable option is if those were the only bras the store had in your particular size, accompanied by an apology and explanation from the salesgirl to that effect. Obviously, as your mom had found some cuter bras for you, this was not the case.

The only oddity I've had (thankfully) with bra shopping so far was a saleswoman who appeared to be snugging the measuring tape too much around my chest. Measuring on the outside of my shirt, she still managed to put me at a smaller ribcage and cup size than the bra I was wearing at that moment.

Thankfully, she didn't hound me after telling me the size she got off of her measurements, and my MIL and I grabbed a few in the size she suggested (just to see), as well as two other sizes including the size I was wearing at the moment.

With one exception, only the ones in my current bra's size actually fit without cutting off airflow or giving me a double-row of boobs (the cups were that tight). The one exception was one cup size (but not band size) down, and none of the fitting bras were in the size the saleswoman suggested.

SG: I handled it! The fatso needs to go online.
                Me: *raising an eyebrow* Excu...
TG: You need to go fold shirts in the back.
SG: GOD I hate when they try to make themselves skinnier. LOOK you need a 58. So what...have breast reduction or something? They should have firmed you up.
                TG: BACK NOW.
Ohhhh boy. That SG is going to get her ass fired, after she gets it chewed! TG sent her in the back so she could rip her a new one without doing it in front of the customer and causing a scene.

Seriously, on what planet is it considered acceptable to say that stuff to a customer? How could she be so brain-curdled stupid?! And good luck finding another job in this economy, especially once word gets around about how she got fired for being mouthy.

I agree with what others have mentioned and place a well-worded email to corporate. You didn't mention if any of those working were actually managers, but sometimes these things don't work their way up the totem pole. Which means management will never know what really happened. Until corporate catches wind, that is.

And I don't think it petty, btw. Consider yourself doing a favor for all future "big-boned" shoppers this horrible girl runs across. Or any humans, for that matter.

I too am a large girl. I would have decked her then demanded her job, and if she wasn't fired immediately I would have contacted corp w/ her name, and the details.

Arg! I can't figure out why people would be this dumb. My mom had a teen girl run up to her as she entered a Victoria's Secret once and say "I'm sorry, but we don't sell anything that would fit you.". I REALLY hope all of these morons gain a very large amount of weight.
wouldn't lube work better in a f***ing machine?

Ah but Akasa just like we laugh at SC's who threaten jobs...I'm not about to go around threatening for someones job. Especially the "I demand you job" I don't want her job and I don't want her penniless. She can walk away from her job just as easily with her behavior.

                            What is the saying?

"Evil prevails when good men and women do nothing?"

It's not about threatening for her job. How many other women has she probably done that to? How many customers has she lost that store? Not just the people she was rude to, but family, friends, coworkers, etc. Someone has to let the bigwigs know.

Besides... We laugh at the SC's who threaten jobs for understandable mistakes or things that can't be avoided or for their own stupidity.

THIS was not the case. That girl does NOT need to be doing what she is doing. Period.

Dropped off their mail this morning as a piece off another route. SG no longer works there. FL is the manager and proprieter of that particular store. I walked out with a free bra and their outgoig mail. TG I'll be pleased to note got a pay raise for trying to handle the situation.

Excellent! She deserves it, too. The store will likely do a lot better with two decent workers serving the customers and not having to deal with an ill-mannered colleague.
