  • More Like a Hearing Than a Sighting...

...and Still Funny at the End, I Hope.

Our neighborhood isn't quiet. We have an all-night parking garage across the street. We have a Firehouse on the next block. We have a Hospital a few blocks away and we're on the direct route to the Emergency Room. We're also under a commonly used flight path to a major airport. In a place like this, machine noises are easy to turn out. Voices aren't and that's what we had about 4AM last night.

It was about the time the local music clubs closed down. The voices were those of a man and a woman. They sounded as if they were in their 20s. They didn't sound drunk. At least at the beginning, the voices were subdued. The discussion was emotional but didn't sound dangerous.

By the clock, the discussion beneath our bedroom window went on for a good ten minutes. We listened for a reason to call the police but, although the voices got louder, we heard no indications of violence or abuse. It was just a couple having a difference of opinion at 4AM.

Then we heard it. There was the sound of a car coming around the corner and the sound of a Police Car siren sounding a perfect, little[SIZE="1"]blp[SIZE="1"]

It was as if someone had turned off the radio. The street was absolutely silent.

Before we turned over and went back to sleep, Hubby and I shared a little laugh about how nicely the cops handled this.
