  • Is "Mall Information" Written on my Back? (bit of language)

Hi all, new here! Have a host of crazy CS jobs on my resume but am much better at reading other's stories.

Anyhow, I'm not working for the next 2 years while I go back to school (YAY!) but I'm still having SC experiences! Sorry if I put this in the wrong place. I'm still trying to figure out the layout here.

This isn't the funniest but I've been venting about it for 2 days and needed another outlet!

Some background: I was running late for a hair appointment at a large area mall. It was fairly busy and I had to park pretty far away from an entrance. I was almost to the entrance when the following happened:

    Me:
    WW: whiny woman

WW: *pulls up behind me in car and rolls down windows* Hey. HEY!
    Me: *ignoring her*
    WW: Hey YOU! GIRL!
Me: *GIRL? I'm over 30! Blah... I give in beause I'm too nice and acknowledge her with a look*
WW: Is there a Coach store in this mall?
    Me: Yes ma'am there is.
WW: Where the HELL is it?
    Me: O_O (WTF?)
    WW: *glaring at me*
Me: It's close to Macy's but from where I'm standing, I'm not sure exactly which direction. Note: mall is only one level and very large with at least a dozen branches.
WW: *whining like a kindergartener* Well, where should I park?
Me: Ma'am, I'm sorry, but I don't know. I parked back there *pointing* and there are other empty spaces around there. I am running late for an appointment. I have to go.
WW: *screaming* I don't know where to park! You tell me where to park! I need to park so I'm close to the Coach store! I don't have a FUCKING place to park!
Me: *running away while she's still screaming*

Wow. They find me even when I'm not employed. I've never worked at said mall nor do I go there very often. I had to take a stroll past the Coach store after my appointment to see if she was being an SC in there. I even thought about warning them .

Okay Ma'am you go back out the entrance you came in, then turn on to Sonofabitch Street and go down 4 blocks, then you hang a right onto Idontgiveashit Lane and go 3 blocks. Then you should see the entrance to the mall, cross Dieinafire Road and the third shop in on the right is the Coach Store. Have a WONDERFUL DAY

I would've ignored her or flat out told her to get bent.

After working in an amusement park for several years, I still have a habit of stopping when people ask me questions (it didn't help that it was 90+ degrees outside and I was on blacktop - FLASHBACK!). I just can't break the habit! That, and where I live, had I made a retort she might have shot me

I wish I had quick wit like many of you do here.

I'd have told her it was right next to SEARS (if it was really by Macys...) and that she should park in the 10 minute catalog pickup spot then cut through the Sears tools section and head for the mall.

              Maybe they will tow it.

I would've just said "Je ne sais pas Anglais" (I don't know English) or "Je ne parles pas anglais". (I don't speak English)

I would have said "you can park as far away from me as humanly possible" and stormed off.

I like that! But for me it would be....Ik spreekt geen Engels (I don't speak any English). This is Dutch btw...my folks do that with telemarketers, JW's and such and they speak both English and Dutch fluently.

You think that experience was bad?

You wanna talk about people treating you like you're Mall Information... try selling cell phones... at a kiosk... in the middle of a very big, very busy mall!

I used to tell my boss we needed to put up a price list as follows:
                      Quoth Jack T. Chance
                      INFORMATION SERVICES PRICING
                      • Ask a question. . . . . . . . . . FREE
                      • Get an answer. . . . . . . . . .$1.00
                      • Get a better answer. . . . . . $2.50
                      • Get the CORRECT answer. . .$5.00
Alas, I was not allowed to implement my plan. We would've been making money hand over fist!
