Hell, you can't even rely on the "looks disabled" thing either. My bf's sister is 4foot 11 and is therefore "legally handicapped". She would qualify for the handicapped placard if she wanted it. But she's one of the more able-bodied people I know. Anyone looking at her would just think she's some lazy bitch with entitlement issues if she were to park in a handicap spot. (Although, she is a lazy bitch with entitlement issues... So they wouldn't be far off. Anyhoo!)

My mom has a handicap placard. (bad knees, spinal stenosis, and asthma) Sometimes she uses a wheelchair when she's in a lot of pain. On good days, she can walk into a store as long as someone is holding her hand.

I bitched at a handicapped lady (it was obvious she needed to park in handicap) a few months back. When I first started to bitch at her tho, I didnt realize she was handicapped. (she could stand and walk)

The reason I bitched her tho...she was parking in the wheelchair access space. The space that has the lines thru it signifying that you cant park in that area because anyone in a wheelchair would need that space to get back into their car.

Oh, she didnt have a placard or the special plates either. She seriously needed to go get the note from a doctor to get the plates from the DMV. I felt bad for her because I could see that if she tried to walk more than 30 feet, she was probably going to fall down. But, she should have known not to park in the wheelchair access space...especially when there were four other spaces on the other side of the aisle that were actually closer to the door.

She went inside the store to do her shopping.(she had to use a shopping cart to walk inside and keep from falling down) The car she was parked next to belonged to a guy I've seen in that store before who has to use a wheelchair. He gets into his car from the side that was being blocked by that lady's car. He was coming out at that point with his wife and started to swear like a sailor when he saw the woman parked next to his car blocking him from getting in.

He and his wife are both volunteer ticket writers for giving tickets to people parked illegally in the handicap spots. I told him about the woman who parked there, and he said that "ignorance of the law doesnt excuse her, and her handicap doesnt give her a free parking pass", and wrote her the parking ticket.

The guy's wife had to back the car out so that he could get in. He told me that people park like that more often than you'd expect.

I dunno, I get a little touchy about the notes and such. You were probably right but I've had a little run-in with note givers. I was late to work so I parked in my normal parking spot in the back but I was a little skewed because there was another car parked funky next to me, so I was in another space a little bit (but this other guy was in MY space a little bit). I didn't have time to move so I didn't. When I got back out eight hours later the funky parked guy had left and there was a sticky on my window that said, "Learn how to park, Moron."

It's not like I was horizontal in across the spaces and they didn't HAVE to park next to me after the other guy left. I thought about parking horizontally the next day with the permission of my manager but then I decided they probably weren't going to come back anyway.

I do not see why people put notes on other vehicles. Most people are not going to think twice about it. If you see someone parked illegal, then let security or a manager know about it. Plus if the vehicles owner came out then, then you could be hurt or killed.

Being short is a technical "disability"?

              Yes, it is.

I sometimes joke that my wife should be able to use the disability parking spaces, since deafness is a disability.

But, perhaps because he was in need of his penis augmentation, he did consider it a disability?

It wasn't a handicapped spot issue, but I once had a customer come in with a plate number and ask me to page the owner. Turned out the other car was parked so close to this person's car that she couldn't get in between the two vehicles, let alone open the door to get in the car.

One time while shopping, there was an announcement on the PA system:

"Would the owner of a metallic blue Subaru WRX with the number plate G-E-N-I-O-S please return to your vehicle, it is blocking the loading dock and is in danger of being flattened by a truck"

Such a genios he misspelled his wanker plate.

that happened at my work; the wanker parked his jag on top of a piece of rebar sticking out of the little barrier at the top of the parking space (you could see it if you looked, but being a wanker...), then came storming into our store, screamed at all of us, then reamed my manager for not having it marked properly.

(um, bother to look much, buddy?) the kicker is that the owner of the area had been informed of the issue many times, but had yet to correct it.

wanker boy doesn't bother to remove the jag (in the disabled spot); i remark to my boss that he's not bothered to identify his car as a disabled vehicle, because no plate, placard, sticker or any other id mark are visible ANYWHERE on this asschunk's car. he then looks over at us, quite disdainfully, and remarks, "i AM disabled." yeah, no kidding, bud; however rich/self important you are, you STILL have to make it easy to identify.

we gave the wank the lot owner's number, but not before he hurled several more choice insults at all present. proof that money doesn't buy class/manners or intelligence.

Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)
