  • Not quite a sighting, but not really my customer.

I wasn't sure exactly where to put this, so I decided on Sightings. If it's the wrong place, go ahead and move.

Not really sucky, just vastly lacking common sense.

Yesterday at work, I had a person (not customer, she spent no money in the arcade) come in and ask, and I quote, "Do you have any machines that sell cigarettes?"

Bear in mind this is in a state where cigarette vending machines have been outlawed for the better part of a decade, and she's asking this in an Arcade that's half ticket games (Family Entertainment Center, FEC, technically).

As I'm about to explain this, she says, right after my "No, ", "Where can I get some cigarettes here, then?" (Backstory, the mall my arcade is at has banned smoking on their property. Everywhere on it. There are signs about this at every entrance.)

At this point, brain-to-mouth filter slips, and I respond "You won't find cigarettes for sale anywhere in a mall that's utterly banned smoking on the premises for the last year and a half".
Those who are loudest about their qualifications, tend to have the least merit to their claims.

I dont think you were out of line of anything....you have better things to deal with than someone who is not a customer of your business asking where to find products your business has no reason to carry. You were just being honestly blunt.
Sorry, my love cannot be bought. And if it could, you obviously don't have enough in your account to do so.
