  • I lost a few brain cells because of this.

I had to go to a local grocery store to pick up a few items for my restaurant and gas station. They have a system of house charges for these type of things, all you have to do is pick one up from the service counter. This way the stuff is tax exempt for resale.

I get there at around 7:30 AM, and get my stuff, and go to the service counter to get a house charge slip. Well I come to find out that the service counter doesn't open till 8 AM. Great.

I go to the casheer and ask her "I need to get a house charge, but couldn't get the slip because the counter is closed, is there any way to do a house charge?"

She says "Yes, you can do it right at the till here."

I was happy because I could get this done. I get everything rung up and am told the total. I tell her "OK, I need that on the house charge".

With a straight face she tells me "I'll need the slip".

    AGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!

I told her at the start I didn't have the slip because the counter was closed!

I was able to get a manager to give me a slip, to get everything finished. Seriously, don't say you can do something if you can't do it. I laugh at it now, but talk about dumb.

Sounds like she tuned out the first half of what you said, and only heard "house charge".

As my staff sup. likes to say, "Duh-duh-duh-dumbass!"

Though I am not naturally honest, I am so sometimes by chance.

Wow that's pretty dumb alright. To be fair, maybe she didn't have her morning coffee yet. That does sound like something I might do pre-caffeine
