Possible self-sighting today. I hope i wasn't sucky, but I was definitely annoying. I was annoyed, too.
I came into the office with a note and a cell phone charger. Guest had left it in the room, and wanted it shipped home. They'd left a credit card number to charge the shipping to. Great, right?
I get to the UPS Store only to discover that the shipping zip code wasn't the same as the billing zip code for the card. I tried to call the guest, first, but their phone was shut off. I didn't leave a message. I figured since their phone was off, and I had the phone charger, it was a very ominous sign.
So, I stepped aside and called work to see if they could look up the guest information. After waiting several minutes (how f***ing hard is it to f*** up a simple reservation search?!?), my CW told me to call back because she had a guest walk in.
UPS Store clerk (who was awesome the whole time) offered to hold it so I could go look and call them back. I drove to work, and in 5 seconds found the reservation with, you guessed it, a completely different address. It wasn't even the same state!
I called the UPS store. Another clerk answered, and told me she'd transfer me to the lady who'd been helping me. In the backgound, I heard her say "...it's that lady..." in a tone of voice where I knew I'd been an SC.
I really didn't mean to be, but because of my coirkers fails (the one who took the credit card without proper billing address, and the one who can't figure out a f***ing simple search), I became an SC.
So, to the staff of the UPS Store, I sincerely apologize.
I am so going to b*tch out my staff. Grrr!
EDIT: The reason the shipping and mailing addresses were different was because Guest A paid for the room, and Guest B was staying there and lost the item, so Guest A was paying to ship the item to Guest B.
