I was grocery shopping and whilst choosing my items I managed to be privy to this conversation:
This place doesn't make their subs they order them from a pizza place in the shopping center.
M: manager
SL: Sub lady

SL: YOU ONLY HAVE AMERICAN AND ITALIAN SUBS YOU ARE RACIST.

M: Ma'am?

SL: MAKE SOME BLACK PEOPLE'S SUBS!!!

M: I'm sorry but we don't make the subs.

SL: MAKE SUBS THAT I WILL EAT OR ELSE!!!

M: I'm sorry you're dissatisfied.

SL: YOU ARE RACIST, BOY!!! MAKE A BLACK PEOPLE'S SUB FOR ME NOW!!!

M: I'm sorry but..

SL: YOU RACIST. I WILL CALL NAACP AND THE MEDIA!!!!! YOU BETTER NOT COME AROUND MY NEIGHBORHOOD OR YOU"LL BE SHOT!!!

M: Ma'am: please leave the store now

SL: F-CK YOU RACIST!!!! MAKE BLACK PEOPLE'S SUBS!!!

I'm no racist specialist, but wouldn't the word American (or even Italian) include black people? It's countries, not races.

What so the colour of your skin dictates what you are and aren't allowed to eat? Wow, I'm glad I know that now, I'd hate for my ignorance of that sort of mandatory discrimination to result in me being racist.

(Was she trying to communicate that the subs were all the kinds that would be eaten by people with certain cultural dietary preferences? That's the only non-racist way I can understand this. Maybe I'm missing something big?)

American and Italian are nationalities not races, therefore said "customer" is the racist.

An Italian sub, is typically a sub with was would be considered Italian meats and cheeses.. Salami, Pepperoni, provolone cheese, Italian dressing

An American would include American Cheese, Ham, Mayo, and other "Normal" American stuff.

Nope. That's American again. A combination of West African, Native American (CORN! One of the greatest things about our nation as far as I care), and poor people (in this case slave, but generally meaning all the parts of a pig you 'normally' wouldn't eat) food.

Though, I'm guessing that's what they wanted. Admittedly, who would want a Soul Food style sub, I dono (slow cooked food on a sub? Not my thing).

Now if we went Caribbean and made a Jerk chicken sub, that would be awesome (anything with jerk chicken is awesome).

Yah, anyone claiming racism when it comes to food is an idiot, and probably racist themselves.

And yah, an 'American' sub is generally turkey and/or ham with American 'cheese'.
