I took my son to see "Legend Of the Guardians" yesterday, which was OK, but not my kind of film. Still, we do anything for our kids, right?
Anyway, as the previews started, these three girls came in together, looked maybe about 15 years old. All three had cell phones in their hands, and were talking amongst themselves. Now, I am OK with this during previews, but not during the film.
These three talked the entire time, cell phones going off as well, talking away. I don't think these girls actually paid enough attention to the movie to get the story by the time it was over, being they were leaving at five minutes before the actual ending. A number of us shushed these girls, but to no avail.
With how expensive it is to see movies now, why would anyone pay to see a movie like this, and just sit there talking? Wouldn't it be better to go find the mall's food court, sit down at a table, and then talk all you want?
Don't get me wrong. I've actually told people to be quiet at movies. I had a guy one time who did nothing but talk about the visual effects of the movie over and over, right behind me. At least when I politely told him to be quiet, he did. The thing I worry about these days is some parents get carried away if you get after their kids. These girls could have had their parents nearby somewhere, waiting on me had I said something. Spoiled teens now have cell phones to call in the cavalry.
