Mrs Frantic & I took my mother to a nice, well known & long-time local steakhouse for her birthday. Our server was a cute & charming young lady, but I kinda got the impression she was new.Turns out I was right.
We ordered drinks & appetizers, things were going well until we got our entrees.I ordered the buffalo, medium rare (NEVER order game well-done,you end up with shoe leather),to my suprise cute & charming brings me....a New York Strip.
Givin' her & the chef the benefit of the doubt, after all, everybody makes mistakes,I have her take it back which she does.
A bit later she comes back with my meal....a sirloin.
I look at her & ask "Are you new to waitressing?"
"Yes,am I doing something wrong?"
"Well darlin',one of the things you never do is bring the wrong thing out to a customer if you know it's wrong,it doesn't matter what the chef says"
"What's wrong?"
"This is sirloin, not buffalo,is your manager in?"
"No" she says, getting a very worried look on her face.
"Don't worry,I don't want to complain about you,but I will have a word with him about your chef that apparently doesn't think people can tell the difference between beef & buffalo"
The next day I called & talked to the manager....well now I understand. He had absolutely no interest in my politely worded complaint, other than to say he'd talk to the chef.
We won't be going back.
