  • We all like different things ...

... but apparently it bothered the SC at the local gas station I always go to for my morning cup'of'joe.
For the record, i like my coffee with a lot of cream, lighter the better. And of course guy standing next to me waiting to fix his coffee up, he couldnt help himself and comment, arrogantly, that if I by any chance want some coffee in that too? I ignored him... until we were in line waiting to pay, he had to come all the way to me, showed me his cup of black coffee ,with .."THIS IS A COFFEE" and left..
Why in the hell he even cared?
Some people should get a life.

He's gonna try that on the wrong person and get coffee-with-a-lot-of-creamer in the face . . .

Sounds like he is someone who really needs his coffee in the morning!

As long as I don't have to drink it, to each his own. He was out-of-line to make those comments. Time to replace his brain-to-mouth filter.

He'd really hate my BFF. Her coffee comes out more like liquid candy, with all the sugar and cream she adds to it. Made the mistake of sampling it once...never again did I let her serve me coffee.

I like mine like liquid candy too. I really like the flavored creamer and still add more sugar to it. I have friends that make fun of me for it, but if a stranger did I think I would be pissed.

You guys do realize that there is this movement where people who like "thin" coffee (as in the OP) are secretly trying to manipulate everyone else into drinking it lightly. This is to get them to drink less coffee and not be as awake (they're allied with the people who switch regular with decaf).

This guy is just pointing out that you'll never convert him.

(Seriously, though, is his life that good that he has to tell others how to live their lives)

He'd have really hated my brother in law. First you take a 72 oz cup (this was a 7/11 size in the 80's). Then you fill it just about 2/3 of the way with sugar. Yes really. Then you add no more than 2 oz of coffee. Finish filling with milk. That stuff was so sweet my kids wouldn't drink it. And they were 9 and 3. You know, the age when kids will just eat a spoonful of sugar straight?

BTW, in case you are wondering. He lost the last of his teeth when he was about 24.

Perfect cuppa joe is like the perfect man: smooth, strong, and the color ranging somewhere between Slash and Keith Hamilton Cobb.

A little gypsy (wild dandelion root, roasted) thrown in, even better.

                    No sweetener needed.

I like my coffee as black and bitter as possible as well. However, I don't give a crap how other people drink it. Can you imagine how boring that guy's life must be that he is getting so concerned with how complete strangers do things?

Seriously?? I just do not have time to even notice how other people drink their coffee, or what they eat. The only time I even discuss it w/ someone is if he/she asks about my food (I'm vegetarian, so I get questions, which is fine), or there's a discussion of health/weight loss. But it's a discussion, not a clobbering session.

The hell. Whose business is it how you take your coffee? Who asked him?

Along these lines, I remember a story my father told me. A friend of his was over at the house, and when they went in the kitchen for coffee, this guy put four spoons of sugar in. My father asked him if he wanted any milk for his coffee, and the guy told him, "No, I don't want to spoil the taste of the coffee."

                            People are weird.

For the record, I am a coffee junkie and drink mine with cream and 1 splenda.

I was raised by two coffee 'purists'. They drink theirs black, but don't like it strong.

I like mine VERY strong, but do dilute it with a bit of cream. My dad teases that I'm a wuss because I don't drink mine black.

I inform him that someone who drinks theirs super strong (like me) with cream is more badass than someone who drinks theirs black but not strong (like him).

Yeah, he's a poser. He wants to appear all hardcore, but wants his "hardcore" coffee weak.

Strong with real cream is how I like it. I don't prefer it sweet, but if I don't have any cream I do put a little splenda in it. If there's no cream, it's got to a little something to cut that bitter edge down a bit.

And if I can't get my hands on real cream, I use either milk or coffee mate with a little butter. I'm used to that butterfat mouthfeel in my coffee.
