  • Hand gestures and power trips

I was at a casino today, I am 24years old following behind my father we go up to the players club to grab a map ask a quick question and walk away.

A security card apparently motions me over, don't see him as well i don't respond to vague hand signals. It isn't until I'm walking away and get a HEY!!! YOU, and only because I working a C-store and deal with idjots who don't know how to properly get attention do I bother to turn around. and am told to get over here, "DO you have your ID?"

I pull it out, and he scolds me for ignoring him.... yes because you never bothered to make an attempt to stop leaning on the wall until I was standing up in front of him and he decided to lean in on me to look tough as I was realizing at 5 9 I'm still taller than him.

While I get security needs to make sure, the underage aren't gambling, there are MUCH more polite ways to gain ones attention. I think something along the lines of "Excuse me sir, I would like to see your ID so you can prove your 21" not "Hey you!!!", especially when I am just casually following behind my father. Whole experience kind of ruined my trip and I think I'm gonna write a letter to the management to let them know that thanks to Jay, that is my first impression of their staff and the only one I really remember, everyone else was much more friendly but considering this was the first 5 min I was there, I should have asked for his ID because he barely looked old enough for his fancy name tag (which later I realized I should ahve grabbed the employee number)

So, do I have a right to be a little bit upset for how I was treated? I mean honestly had it not been a bus trip and I was stuck there for 6 hours, I would have given him the bird after showing him my ID and went somewhere else.
I'm sorry reading is not a new concept it has been widely taught in our nation for at least the past 100 years. Please, learn to do it CORRECTLY before you become contagious.

I would say the guy clearly felt you were underage and decided to treat you like it before finding out the truth. Which is the exact opposite of what he should be doing.

That said, you really shouldn't let something like that ruin your entire trip.

But do let the management know. You never know when they are compiling documentation to get rid of a sucky employee. And in a casino esp, they don't want to drive away the legit customers. Also, since you weren't attempting to gamble, I don't see why he needed to see your ID in the first place.

At most, if not all casinos, you have to be a certain age to even be in them.

It has never failed that when the husband and I would go to the casino, half the time he'd get carded and I'd get through and the other half I'd get carded and he'd get through.

We both are pretty sure if he shaved his Van Dyke he'd get carded all the time.
          Random conversation:
Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
          DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

If it's a hotel/casino and you were underage they don't bother unless you're heading to gamble.
The security is told to be polite to customers, you should have ripped him a new one for that

Circus Circus for one, often has kids in it. For some weird reason, kids like circus acts.

Of Course, Vegas is an ... unusual city anyway.

I thought the OP was talking about the actual gambling area. That's what I thought he meant by "casino." I may have been mistaken.

The only time I was in Circus Circus was 2001, and it was a dirty dump back then. I shudder to think of what it's like now.

he was definitely unprofessional; he should have approached you, asked for your id, thanked you and left it at that, instead of being a lazy jerkoff.
                    look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)

It's in need of renovation, but it's a lot better than it used to be. Unless you have kids, there is no reason to go there though. Same goes for the Excalibur.
