We took our 4 year old to a corn maze. A small one. With signs to look for and mark off things on a little map,so she had something to do besides wander through coin. We got a map of the maze before we went in so we could find our way out quickly if we needed to. And we did the maze just after lunch and it was the first thing we did when we got to the farm, since we knew she'd get grumpy walking around a maze if she got tired.
See - you're a good parent. I actually like it when parents take their kids to things like corn mazes. It can be used to teach them how to think logically about directions, how to back trace your steps and how to apply a 2 dimensional map to a 3 dimensional world.

I just think that people need to think about their own abilities in a maze before dragging a kid through it past their bedtime. And also realize that the parent's emotional well being affects the children's emotional well being..

A couple weeks ago I heard about a couple that got lost in a maze and called 911. o_o
The corn maze I went to here http://www.clintonseasefarm.com/ had an employee up in a tower with a loudspeaker. When you enter the maze, you are given a colored pennant, which you are to wave overhead if you get lost, and the employee can shout out directions to you.

Bonus: the employee with loudspeaker also called shenanigans on some teens that were trying to sneak in via the exit.
