Today, when I ventured out to get the Sunday papers, I found out that this guy, who I used to work with, now works at the Kwik Trip nearest to me.
As I was coming in the door, I caught the tail end of a conversation between him and somebody I'm assuming was his manager or supervisor. This supervisor/manager-type person said "You know, you're really book smart."
Cue me trying to stifle my giggles.
Then as he's ringing up my newspapers, supervisor/manager pipes up again: "You could be President someday!"
We're talking about a kid who may be book smart and may have done well in school, but who also has no ambition and little if any street smarts. Which is why he washed out of the clearance swamp, which says absolutely nothing good about him. If this kid ever comes close to the Oval Office, God help us all.
I wonder how long it is before supervisor/manager starts cursing this kid's name, like us at the swamp did.
