I didn't even need a day pass to get onto Ellsworth AFB when I still had my Ft. Hood sticker on my car. Just had to show the military ID but regs have probably changed in the last 14 years.
The only problem I ever had getting onto base was when my Ft. Leonard Wood sticker had expired before I got off my dead ass and got a Ft. Polk sticker. The MP just gave me a warning and told me to get to the office and get my new sticker.
