There is now evidently a big hubbub because the Pepsi vendor for one of our stores wanted to product swap (trade bad, outdated product for new straight-up) instead of taking back the bad product and issuing credits. This is very specifically called out in the receiving manual as something that is NOT ALLOWED.
Apparently, the receiving clerk at this store e-mailed the candy/grocery buyer to ask if this was okay, and he said it was. That triggered another e-mail from some other corporate official saying basically "what the hell is he talking about? Product swapping is not allowed and never will be."Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil.
