apologies to the local craft store.

Had a manager ask me if I needed help. Found out they'd been closed for 15 minutes

I apologized profusely and took my purchases to the front. They were nice to me about it but ... meh. I honestly hadn't realized.

At least you had the decency to apologize and finish your trip quickly. I can forgive someone who merely lost track of the time and quickly corrects the situation.
