Animal stamps on wedding invites?

I was at the Post Office either at 1pm or 2pm. Of course there was only 1 cs person (PO cs).

When I got there there wasn't much of a line. I filled out a form to ship a package. I get in line. The PO cs said I filled out the express form and he gave me the correct form to fill out. He told me he will take care of the next person then he will take care of me.

The next person was a woman with about 15 wedding invites in hand (though I don't know if shee had more in her purse). She showed the PO cs the animal stamps she had and said, "I can't put these animal stamps on wedding invites," could he stamp each invite. PO cs said there was too many people in line, he couldn't stamp each one (though they didn't seem that many-I could understand not stamping 100 invites). Though I was thinking the woman could just buy a book of stamps.

So he shuffles her out of line, but then he called the next person in line! (hello, whatabout me?) But woman with invites had a question, he helped her then I waved and got his attention and he attended me.

Some people are uptight about that. There used to be 'love' stamps with hearts and crap on them and it seemed I saw those on every wedding invitation I received (maybe I still do, I stopped paying attention). Demanding the PO employee to drop everything and personally stamp your invitations seems pretty entitled. Your invitations = your job.

When I got married the PO had just issued these wicked bat stamps so I used those.

There are bridal magazines that say having the PO hand stamp envelopes gives it a classic look. I plan on doing this, but I also plan on asking when their slow times are.

At least using Birthday wrapping paper works for Christmas gifts as long as you finish "Happy Birthday" with "Jesus". lol

Yes, I agree. Some brides (me included) want the cohesive look to span all aspects. Think of it like the packaging on any Apple product. Even the wrapper was researched and designed to provide the optimal experience. </kool-aid>

I can understand having special stamps for wedding invites. however i'm of the mindset "well buy them then" ... as in buy them ahead of time etc.

I put my Save the Dates in the mail yesterday. We intentionally went with postcards to save a few dollars on paper and postage. Sadly, the postcards were made too big for the postcard stamp, but I didn't find this out until aft purchasing and stamping 96 cards. So my cards have a Hawaiian shirt stamp (32¢), a clock with an eagle (10¢) and a star (3¢). Had I been forewarned, they'd have all gotten Pixar stamps.

Oh well.
