  • If you most walk/jog at night...

I encounter this moron Driving home tonight on a dark road with very narrow shoulders in sections. If you thought they were

    1. Using the correct side of the road
    2. At the minimum wearing light colored clothing and/or some reflective material
    3. staying as far to the right as possible

You would be wrong. They were on the wrong side of the road, wearing black pants with a Grey shirt and about two feet into the travel lane.

A few years ago some little old lady was killed while walking to a local Church at 6AM i the winter wearing all black, try not to repeat that. Moron.

I always heard that if there's nowhere to walk safely on the side of the road, you should go on the wrong side so you can see oncoming traffic.

Sounds like 99% of the students at Carnegie Mellon. Those fools will run out in front of traffic at night, and it's not unheard of for them to be wearing all-black. They can't understand why people come to a screeching halt, blow their horns and usually yell "get the fuck out of the road" when they do that

I drive through a ghetto type area several times a night at my job. For some reason the people in the area LOVE to walk around at 2 in the morning. Dark-skinned individuals, wearing all black, walking on or over the white line, then waving at ME to get out of THEIR way...when there's a car or, even better, the other truck that runs the same route I do coming the other way! Why is this?

Someone was killed a while back in my area wearing all black. Technically the driver would have been at fault if it was during the day.. but it was at night.

Driver was found not at fault due to the pedestrian's dress.

We get these idiots around here a lot. The main street is 4 lanes with a center for turning, has spotty lighting, and a 35mph limit, which most people top by 10-15.

I spotted one of these one night only because of the fact that I couldn't see the white lane markers at one stretch, so it made sense that there must have been something blocking them. I gave him a good blast with my horn as I went by.

As for the walking thing, when you are a pedestrian, you're supposed to walk against the flow of traffic for safety reasons.

I should have mentioned this... When I still had the paper route, I was occasionally out at night, usually because the papers were delivered late. As such, I was always careful. That is, I'd fitted my beat-up delivery wagon with reflective stripes plus a set of bike reflectors front and rear. But, at least one of those wagons (I had a couple) was fitted with a flashing red "brake light."
