While reading some of the other winter accident stories here, I was reminded of one that happened to a neighbor of mine many years ago.
He was driving home one afternoon. It was snowing heavily. None of the roads had been closed yet, but conditions weren't very good.
Someone had hit a slippery patch were the road took a curve, and had slid off into the ditch, where he was stuck. My neighbor then hit that same spot, slid into that same ditch, and skidded right into that same stuck car. No injuries, but some minor damage to both cars.
As luck would have it, the very next car to come by was a cop... who skidded out and hit both cars. The officer gets out, surveys the damage and says "Well, I think I know what happened here." Everyone chuckles.
Just then, a 4th car hits the curve, and skids right into the cruiser.
At that point, the cop got on the radio to recommend closing the road
