I think I may have been an SC yesterday, either that, or I was horribly rude to someone I know! Here in NJ, we don't really have turn lanes, but jughandles.

So when I go home, i turn off the main road, come down a ramp, and can either go left or right. Left is your u-turn, you go up, and turn left back onto the other side of the main road, and right takes you onto a secondary road. That's the way I go.

There is a stop sign at the end of the ramp, then a sharp turn, with a 3 way stop. As we stop first, cars coming off have the right of way.

So i stop, as there is traffic coming straight, and pause, and see more cars coming. I perhaps COULD have gone, but its not always clear for the 3-way who has the right of way, so I waited. Mind you, it was like 3 seconds. car behind me does not like this, and honks, and then throws up her hands like 'what are you waiting for?"

I never do this, but I was tired, cranky, and NOT in the mood, so I showed her the rude finger....she then begins waving at me! I then thought, oh shit, is that someone I know????? But i didn't recognize her or the car, so maybe her waving at my finger was how she reacted. I then made my turn, and she followed, fortunately when I turned into my complex, she kept going!

    Oops.

Being careful is not a bad thing. Don't worry about it, better safe then sorry some times.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

Ugh... I hate jughandles. It's like the kryptonite for us Pennsy drivers.

Exactly. When I did my second attempt at the driving test in June, I was faulted for "lack of progress on the straight". The examiner said in his debrief that while he felt there was ample space for me to continue without disrupting oncoming traffic, I was being cautious, and that there was nothing seriously wrong with it.

Good news is I passed the test too. A 40 minute test, over in 15 minutes, including oral examination and technical checks.

Top tip: Get the last test appointment before a long weekend. It helps. It helps A LOT.
