Oh yeah, we get that a lot around here. It's a bit better in intersections with traffic lights than in those without, but still not very good - you really have to keep looking to all sides to make absolutely sure that noone's running a red light. The only vehicles that will stop every time without fail are the busses.
Almost got run over by a motorcyclist once, who ran a red light and roared through the crossing I was in. He was so close that I could have wrapped my arms around him without stretching, had I been fast enough. Thank goodness he didn't come one milisecond later, he would have run directly into me :-/
