In my bartending days, that was my favorite ploy to kiss up for better tips.

I always suspect this when a bartender cards me.

Last week I was in a hotel bar and two (drunk) guys were falling all over themselves telling me I "barely look 20". Yeah well the bartender didn't card me so cleaaaaarly that is not the case.
