For Those who place internet orders, PART I wanna hit you with a clue X four
had another one of these gems happen last night. Why is it ALWAYS the last order of the night (meaning around 2am)?????
INternet order placed. When it is ready I look at the ticket and notice that in the information field is the following message: "Buzz the first apartment" NOT buzz Apt. #x or ring top doorbell. That in and of itself is not all that unusual.
I look at the street address and know that this particular address (based on my experience delivering there before) is a single family detached dwelling NOT a multi-unit apartment (no upper/loer or side by side).
Knowing I will most likely be waking someone up at 2am IF I attempt delivery to the address on the ticket, I call the number provided. The person who answers the phone verifiies they did order pizza and then I ask them to verify their address. OOOPPPPPPPSSSSSSSS they must have "forgot" to change the address on their internet order. The "new" address they give me is indeed a mutli_unit apt building (6 or 8 units). I ask them which apt I should buzz and they repeat "the first apt".
Fine whatever. I get to the new address and nicely they are waiting at the front door for their order.
At least I got tipped well $5.
If you are going to order from a friends house at least USE their phone number and address PLEASE.
Good order BAD phone
this happened Friday night. AGAIN the last order of the night around 2am.
An order is placed for an "old" (meaning they have ordered at least 4 or 5 times before) at a known good address. Now this particular address is a multi-unit house, meaning there are 3 apts in front (one lower A and 2 upper B and D) and 1 apt in back (in some sort of addition C). There are NO doorbell buttons to press for any of the apts.
The apt I am to delivery to is Apt D. I arrive at the address and attempt to enter the front door that leads to the stairs to get to the upper apts. It is locked.
Now it being 2am on a Friday night I am NOT going to start banging on said front door and possibly wake the persons in the other apts. So I pull out mycellphone and call the number on the ticket. It rings 3 times then the dreaded "The code or number you have called is invalid. Please hang up and try again."
Great I dialed wrong. I punch in the number again and the same thing happens. I then call the store and have them call the number on the ticket. Same invalid message.
Being unable to contact the customer I, with the permission of the MOD head back to the store. We get our closing stuff done and leave.
Epiloge: During the day on Saturday the customer calls to complain they ordered but never got their pizza. The closing MOD did leave a note for the day MOD (the store GM) to explain what had happened in case the customer did call in.
Now the guys story kept changing. First it was the phone number was valid and active, twisting and turning into "WELL I was sitting out on the front porch the WHOLE TIME".
When I came in the GM menioned the call to me and I knew exactly who it was and WHEN it was. The told me the "story" the customer gave her. I told my side of the story and she agreed with me that even under these circumstances that NO discount or free stuff would be given.
I then asked her to actually call the number. Anyone want to guess the restult was::::::
We are sorry but the number or code you have dialed is not valid BEEP BEEEP
