Back on topic: I've been to the beach several times, for example and I've always taken my own beach towel. It's not that hard to make out a list beforehand of what you'll need and start packing about a week beforehand so you'll have everything and less likely to forget something at the last minute.
Or maybe I just tend to overthink things sometimes . . .
