Long time reader, first time poster here.
As a bit of background, a lot of my stories will be things I witness but don't necessarily experience first hand. I work in surveillance for a Casino/card room (thus eye in the sky).
Anyway, yesterday, I get a call up in the surveillance room from the Pit Boss. Turns out, this guy has been calling all day (well, all day for the Casino starts around noon), wanting someone from the casino to bring his stuff into the building and hold onto it until he came to get it that night. Apparently he left a couple bags in the bushes out in front of the building, between the parking lot and the sidewalk.
Of course, because they're not idiots, no one would go get it. He'd call the Pit, Security, the Cashier's Cage, the Bar, and even the Waitress station, but all refused (it could be a liability, plus who knew what was in those bags, ie drugs, a bomb, whatever. No way in hell was anyone going to bring his crap inside and take the risk or responsibility for it.)
Anyway, Pit Boss wants me to call the cops, because he's the paranoid type, but I just called our Assistant Manager instead (She's amazing, btw). She says to tell him to pass on to everyone that we just tell this guy to stop calling and not to talk to him.
Of course, this particular Pit Boss forgets to pass it on, so the Cage and the Bar still have to deal with him more that night.
He finally came in at about 1 am to get his stuff, asked for the Cage, Bar, and Security's names and told them he was getting fired, going on about he was a customer there, and we were responsible if his stuff was damaged or stolen, and they were all disrespectful and this was a horrible way to treat customers, etc etc etc.
The general consensus is he's an idiot, and it's highly probable he'll be perma-banned from the casino, which is awesome.
Today when I got up, I talked to the surveillance manager about it, and he found out what the guy had in his bags. Candy and a present.
Kinda feel bad for whoever that was for.
