BG: I work as a massage therapist in a relatively high end day spa. Our hours can be confusing; M, W, and Th 8-7, F and Sat 8-2.
Story 1:
A not-so-gentleman calls in wanting details about our massage services. Says he wants a special massage. We tell him our options, hoping he doesn't mean what we think he means. He hems and haws, asking for something really special.
No. No happy endings. Go away!
Story 2:
A guy makes an appointment for a massage. He' a new client, so he is supposed to come a bit early to fill out some paperwork. At 10 til, he's not there. At his start time, he's not there. 5 minutes late, we call him. He is at work, he forgot, can he come in an hour? As I have limited babysitting, the answer is no. He reschedules.
Come the day of the new appointment, the whole scene replays itself, minus him being at work. He can be in in 15 minutes! However, I have another massage scheduled right after his slot, so that won't work. He asks if we could help him out and stay 3 hours late so he can have a massage from 4-5 on Friday. (Um, no.) He asks if we could stay 2 hours late so he can have a massage on Saturday. (While I would do that for repeat clients, I won't for a guy who repeatedly misses his appointments!)
I don't understand why people expect this sort of thing from us.
Bonus Co-irker:
Therapist A turned in her 2 week notice. Annoying Receptionist immediately transfers some of A's clients to me. Without telling A. Without telling the clients involved. Said clients are very displeased when they come in and are told that they were switched. Luckily, one of them gave me a try, but the other threw a hissy fit (which I don't really blame her for). Luckily, A was there and was still able to take the massage, but it meant on that I drove into work that day for absolutely no reason.
This receptionist does stupid stuff like this all the time, and I hate it because it makes us look bad.
