  • We've Comitted a Crime Against Fashion!

So, a lady wrote us a letter today.

In in, she expressed her desire for full reimbursement of all fines/tickets/penalties she recently received from us for not following the posted parking regulations in a lot she happened to park in back on Monday. Illegally I might add.

    The reason?

She tore her favorite sweater on a rose bush in said lot upon exiting her car.

Therefore, it's only fair for us to erase all her fines and call it even between us for damaging her clothing.

    Uh huh....

And exactly what side of who's bed did you wake up on for that to have seemed like a legitimate complaint, Miss? You do realize that we don't OWN that lot right? Nor are we responsible for anything other than the condition of your car when we towed you, right? This is all just an elaborate practical joke? Right?

Oh dear, you we're serious weren't you?

Well, how about you write a letter to Global Domination Reality about that? Seeing as they own that lot, and said rosebush. You'll get closer to a resolution there than you will here.

    Not much closer, but closer.

And by "closer" I mean closer in a distance measured in the width of a single and purely theoretical subatomic particle, mind you, but closer nonetheless.

Wow, that is some cosmic scale entitlement there, isn't it? I guess some mysterious power generated by your lurking tow trucks must have forced her to park illegally.....
When you start at zero, everything's progress.

I guess it's the "Nothing to lose and who knows, I might win!" excuse.

(Nothing to lose, of course, except whatever minute increment of credibility she might have had at one time ...)

My reply would have been along the lines of, "Not only will we not reimburse you seeing that this is your failure to assume responsibility for your own actions, but the sheer comedic request will be posted on consumer and news sites..."

That might be one of the saddest attempts to get out of towing fee that I've ever seen...

Just when you thought you've seen it all....

She hurt my brain with that bizarre logic (for want of a better term). Does that mean I can park there free?

              Rose damages

You should send her a bill for the damages she has done to the rose bush.

Wait, I read your post yesterday but this hadn't clicked immediately. She is asking a waiver of her fine. Of her PARKING fine. And... so, she tore her sweater in a parking lot she shouldn't have been parked in and she asks for a waiver/refund because...

No, sorry, I can't get my head around her reasoning.

I think I know why you can't - The woman making the request would be at risk of a concussion if someone kicked her in the ass. You face no such risk.
