  • You know what I'm saying? (over, and over, and over, and over again)

I remember this lady I had a couple of years ago. When Bellsouth went regional, it included taking calls for all of the nine states they were handling. Customers in areas of Tennessee are very nice and polite, but some can sound like a broken record. I had a woman who was making a simple change on her service, upgrading from a basic line to one with bells and whistles. However, she must have said "You know what I'm saying" forty, maybe fifty times while speaking to me. She was very friendly and a pleasure to talk to, but I must have heard this so many times to where later than night, I could hear "You know what I'm saying?" in my sleep. We're talking in a voice that sounded like Mama on "Mama's Family". Imagine hearing that phrase in that voice fifty times or so.

a guy who does outside work for us does that. It gets old quick.

The worst part is when I have to make another call to deal with whatever he just told me, but he wants to explain it to me again to make sure I "know what he's saying"

I like the guy and all, but sheesh.
