Your store loyalty card nets you points that convert to a voucher to be spent in store! Voucher valid only in certain departments! Do I think it's fair? Not necessarily. Is that the point? Not even close. The terms and conditions were laid out for you, both verbally when you signed up, and in writing in the brochure you're given. If you didn't listen, that's not our fault. If you didn't read it, that's not our fault. When it comes time to spend your voucher, and you find out that it's only valid in said certain departments, that's not your cue to go on a ten minute rant about how sucky we are.
Our return/exchange policy has always been the same! 14 days with a receipt, and we don't do cash returns! Store credit only, unless the item is faulty, in which case obviously we will honor our obligations under the Consumer Goods Act! Even if you didn't ask/get told this, it's printed on every receipt, and pasted on every counter. Besides which, it's pretty standard operating procedure! No, we haven't changed it in the last two weeks between you buying your crappy socks and wanting to return them. Yes, you WERE made aware of the policy - as previously stated before, it's pretty obviously printed on every single receipt. And I know you got a receipt, because you've just handed it to me to facilitate the return. So no cash for you today!
