  • Wow, two in a row....

I got two consecutive calls from SC's, as soon as I hung up the phone, it rang again, making my headache worse.

    Call #1...

ME: Thank you for callling blah blah blah blah.....
SC: How much is a room with two beds for next Friday?
ME: Our double queen room for next Friday is $99 PLUS tax.
SC: Ouch! How about a Military discount?
ME: The Military rate is $89 PLUS tax.
    SC: So its $89?
    ME: Yes, $89 PLUS tax.
    SC: $89 even?
ME: No, its $89 PLUS tax on top.
    SC: So whats the total?
ME: The full total with the taxes applied is $100.22.
SC: But you told me $89?!?!
ME: The room is $89, then there is tax.
SC: Thats dumb, I never heard of such a thing!
ME: Ever been to the store?
    SC: Of course!
ME: Whats the last thing you bought?
SC: Why do you want to know?
ME: I want to make a point that you probably paid tax on whatever you bought.
    SC: Idiot! *click*

    Call #2...

ME: Thank you for callling blah blah blah blah.....
SC: I want to treat my daughter to a pool today, what does it cost to use yours?
ME: Sorry ma'am, you can't just use the pool, you must rent a room to use our facilities.
SC: Okay, whats the cheapest room for tonight?
ME: Its the King size and its $89 PLUS tax.
SC: I'm not even going to stay in the room, thats just ridiculous!
ME: I'm sorry, but thats what a room goes for, and only guests are allowed to use the pool.
SC: What if I just walk in the door and head for the pool, what are you going to do?
ME: I will call the police because you are tresspassing, and you and whoever you are with will be escorted off the property.
SC: Did you call me an escort?!?!
ME: What are you talking about?!?!
    SC: SHITHEAD!!!! *click*

That second call almost felt like a joke. I couldn't believe I had a conversation like that, from a supposed "adult". Good lord, humanity is trouble!!!

BTW, anyone seen Idiocracy? Kind of feels like my life.

Saw Idiocracy the other week. I'd heard good things, so I bought the DVD. I've nearly worn it through now.

I love that movie. I honestly believe that every SC parent described on these boards has taken steps to make the situation in Idiocracy a reality.

          Excellent movie / documentary.

Too bad it never hit the theatres here, straight to video. Eh, at least I got to see it quickly.

As for the SCs: Yep, SC, Stupid Customers!!

To be fair, there are lots of things that can be bought without tax...even big bags of Doritos.

It was in theaters, but it was a very limited release with no advertising backing it up, because the studio just wasn't sure how it was going to be received.
Seeing as how there's people THAT stupid alive today, and we all deal with them on a daily basis, I suppose I can see why.

Or you can live in a cool state like New Hampshire where there is no sales tax (they just tax the hell out of everything else, except income, too).

Well, I understand that sales tax isn't always applied, but I said plus tax a hundred times.
And believe me, this guy wasn't from New Hampshire

That is cool though, I didn't know that New Hampshire doesn't have sales tax or income tax, I might have to consider that as the next state I move to

As someone from NH I can tell you that it is going to change. Our State budget was a mess, our school system was falling apart and our legislature was asking wonderful questions like "Do kids even need to be educated?" Cause, yeah, thats the way to a bright future.

It was, and still is, horrible. Thankfully people have realized that since we don't have Oil (like Alaska) then we need some kind of revenue for state services. That and people are sick of being shocked when they are told that nothing will be done about their problem cause there is no money to fix it (and yet... they vote for all the idiots who take the No Tax Pledge. God*amn Union Lier).

Okay off soap box. Sorry. Home state politics. I shouldn't get into them.
