we get this kind of situation a little more frequently these days in the era of seniors using cellphones, burn phone, and general idiots.
I am at the dispatch terminal ready to take my next run.
I see the letter D next to the order. Now on our POS system this means that a customer has placed an internet order and used a credit card that has for whatever reason been declined. Normally it would be a C indicating that an authorized CC was used on the order.
Not that big of a deal since either our CC provider has had some glitch or the customer has entered invalid CC information or a for real CC decline has happened. The solution is to call the customer and re-enter the CC information and get things cleared up.
I call the customer. The phone rings and then the dreaded message:
We are sorry but the customers voice mail box is FULL and they are currently not accepting any new messages.
OH WELL this order IS NOT going anywhere right now. I let the MOD and CSR know about the situation and ask the CSR to try and call the number a few times to possibly get the customer's attention.
Time to grab the next order up and get on the road.
The last time I saw the order it was at 45 minutes late and I had not heard if the customer had called in looking for their order and then it disappeared so I assume the MOD canceled the order.
About 4 hours later I see an order going to the exact same address. I print out the ticket and see that it is EXACTLY the same order from 4 hours ago.
Yeah I got that one and got stiffed.
