i trained my big dog not to pull before i started using a flexi on her... so if i call her to heel she stays at my side even if i don't press the brake button... and yeah... i'm a bad doggy mommy, but the little dog is only 15 lb, so if i don't want him to go in a certain direction... he doesn't. he's not strong enough to have a say in the matter. only had him for a few months tho. i'll probably start training him like i should soon... i'm just being lazy because... yeah... small dog. XD

i've not been lazy in ridding him of SDS tho... and he minds the door and doesn't try to run out past us.. so i guess we got the important basics covered. lol

On Tuesday, a Jack Russell terrier the size of my dog (about 14 lbs) ran in off the street and parked himself in the end of a hallway.

Turns out the owner had called the same dispatch department looking for reports of said dog's whereabouts at the same time we called, so we were able to put two and two together.
If the poor thing had rarely/never been outside his home without his human, he was probably absolutely terrified. Your hotel must have been the most home-like place he could find.

I'm glad his human was so prompt in seeking him; that argues that he/she was a good dog-carer!

I just saw in the police reports a story about a little dog in traffic. Got saved, but the owners got a fine, can't remember the official reason but basically it messed traffic up pretty bad and the cops came to save it. Yeah, things happen, but if it was mine I'd be happy to pay and have my pet alive.

He WAS pretty scared. He'd apparently made it across a major busy street without getting hurt. I'm glad he got home.

You're good people for looking after him and reporting his location.
