That was my normal joke that I'd tell to get people from focusing on the fact that I was having to log their psuedoephedrine purchases.
"Yeah, why can't they just smoke pot or sniff markers like normal people?"
I just tell them to steal it like all the other addicts do ... saves me an argument when I'm busy

Er, what would the non-pharmacists here know this drug as?
If the drug name ends with "pam" it's a dead giveaway.

Sorry, it's a narcotic in the same class as valium.
It is in the same class as Valium, but the class happens to be benzodiazepines. These are described as sedative-hypnotics. Brand name for lorazepam is Ativan. The worst of these, as far as addiction is concerned, is clonazepam (Klonipin), often prescribed for sleep. It can take many, many months of slowly decreasing the dose to get off this stuff.

Thus the potential for major-league SC behavior in attempting to acquire more of these. Frequent SC rant: "You're forcing me to go buy this from a street dealer".

To people who actually know much about pharmacy, it might be. To civilians, maybe not.
