Sorry, it's a narcotic in the same class as valium.
It is in the same class as Valium, but the class happens to be benzodiazepines. These are described as sedative-hypnotics. Brand name for lorazepam is Ativan. The worst of these, as far as addiction is concerned, is clonazepam (Klonipin), often prescribed for sleep. It can take many, many months of slowly decreasing the dose to get off this stuff.
Thus the potential for major-league SC behavior in attempting to acquire more of these. Frequent SC rant: "You're forcing me to go buy this from a street dealer".
