I'm waiting to see what the third in the series has in store for me.
1 - not really related to work (or that interesting). I saw a tree that had fallen on the power line, the line was still attached to the poles but was sagging so low that I could have walked up and grabbed the lines. I called the hydro company to report it and was told they don't service that area and to call utility company. Utility company said they serviced that area but had nothing to do with electrics and to call third company. Third company said they did electrics but not in that township, and to try calling the first company I had tried. I got bored of this and called the police non-emergency number, they said they would find out who's jurisdiction it was. Half an hour later I got a call from a hydro company who said that was there area. They asked me if it was an electric, phone or cable line that the tree was on. I would have no idea. They suggested that is probably phone line, and it wouldn't be their problem to fix. Whatever, I stopped caring about this at least two phone calls ago!
2 - was a little more interesting. Work was going perfectly normally today, I was working in the office when a police officer entered, informed me that there was a complaint about our company being a mafia related, gun running possibly porn or snuff film making money laundering front. Um........
I had no idea what to make of that. After a bit of a discussion I was given the 'evidence' that the police had been informed of to make someone come to this conclusion
Which, actually seems pretty bad on first glance. Until I explained it to him. I showed him the contents of the gun cabinets, which we bought because they were on clearance and the perfect size and shape to fit in the office, and we could store the expensive tools and equipment the guys have to sign out, rather than the regular equipment they grab out of the shop as needed. I showed him the receipt for the new Hilti guns we had just bought, (guns that shoot nails into things like rock and concrete that you can't usually stick nails in) because my co-worker called me earlier today and complained that hilti guns we had just got back from repair were still jamming after every 4-5 shots, and weren't so much sticking nails in the concrete as exploding holes in it. I also showed him the photos my coworker had sent of two other coworkers that were covered in black cock - er caulk. Which they were laughingly protesting him taking, after a unfortunate incident at a job site.
The police was actually very nice about it, spent less than 15 minutes in the shop 'investigating these serious allegations' before leaving, and laughing about it too.
The reason why I posted this in sucky customers? It was a customer who had earlier spent 10 minutes in the office, paying her bill, who had overheard the phone calls and seen the gun cabinets that had called the police in a GIANT panic the moment she left the shop! It never occurred to me how bad that would look and sound to someone who didn't know what was going on. I'm not sure why she didn't ask what was going on, I guess she must have been really terrified of our gun-running, mafia-based, snuff-film-shooting front of a construction company.

- My office is full of guns - as evidenced by the locked gun cabinets
- My coworkers are making gun deals and shooting things when they are out working for the day - because it was overheard when I was on the phone with one
- We are filming naked people without their consent - as overheard on a different phone call
