    Directly making her life more difficult

    So at the Resort, we actually run the local Golf & Country Club. I have one phone number for them, and a whopping three extension options. So if you want the restaurant there, I can connect you and tell you it's extension 2 once you're connected. I have to call that number and dial 2 if I myself want to talk to the restaurant. If there's a more direct line, I'm not privy to it.

    SC called wanting to be connected to Country Club Restaurant (CCR)

    SC: "Yeah, I had a phone number to the bar at CCR but I can't find it. Can you get me that number?"
    Me: "I have their number at [main phone number]."
    SC: "No no no, I have that one, but I want the direct line to the bar!"
    Me: *thinking even if I had it, I don't think we'd give it out* "I'm sorry, I don't have that number, I only have [main number]. I can connect you if you like to their main line."
    SC: "Well that's no good!" *click*

    Two minutes later, the phone rings. It's the same number.

    SC's husband: "Yeah, I'm looking for the hotel bar."
    SC in background: "Country club bar! Country club!"
    SC's husband: "Sorry, I meant the bar at the country club."
    Me: "Unfortunately I don't have a direct line to the bar, but I have their main phone number."
    SC's husband: "Sure that's fine."
    Me: "I'll connect you and when you hit the phone tree, the restaurant will be extension 2." *connects him to the main number*

    Husband was much more reasonable. I still find it amusing that the wife made him call and expected us to give a different answer.

    No doubt a variation on asking a CW or supervisor to get a response more to the SC's liking.
    I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

      My guess would be a reverse of the SC who asks for a man to answer their question because they don't like the answer the female employee gave (or don't think the female employee knows what she's talking about).

        Reminds me of people who keep calling the front desk to make reservations. Yes I KNOW you don't want to talk to India. Corporate says I have to make you. STOP CALLING BACK it will not give you a different result. I don't have time to try to pry your Hellton Honors member number or credit card information out of you while you recite your life story. I don't care that you're coming to visit your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate. Just click the happy buttons on the website. And if the price you see there is higher than it was yesterday, no amount of whining about "whyyyyyyyy is it so hiiiiiiighh nooooowwww" is going to make me lower it. It's higher because of bunch of people smarter than you clicked that happy "book now" button and now we're closer to being full.
