Note on account: Customer states her services aren’t off yet. She didn’t want me to tell anyone. Customer then stated she was glad that we were “American” & that if other companies hired foreigners, that she wouldn’t do business with them.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd that is why we have public broadcasting: For people who shouldn't be allowed to own cable.

Hey. That's a pretty catchy motto. I think I'll have to broadcast something on public access sometime so I can put that at the end of the show!

Thank you! I don't know what all of that was about. Honestly, I was so shocked by her comment that I didn't know what to say to her. I think I changed the subject quickly & moved on.

I wonder how that lady would feel, if she knew that a lot of Americans she saw come here (legally, even) and got their US citizenship. She better stay away from my store...

Would be interesting to have had someone of Sioux descent talking to them on the phone with the ability to point out the obvious.

I'm not Native American, but my family has been in the country for a long time. When people complain about immigration, I just say...

Me: How long has your family been in this country?
Person: My grandparents emigrated in 1920.
Me: 1920... My ancestors arrived in 1705, so technically, you're only here because we let you in. Anyway, thanks for coming. We enjoyed having you as a guest, and I hope you had as much fun as we did, but don't you think it's time to be going home now? We'd like to get some sleep.

              That usually shuts them up.

I get that from a few people, who demand American service, American workers and American quality. Sound like somebody hasn't heard that Toyota just trumped GM in overall sales because of better foreign quality.

I work and live in Canada. Most people are cool with that when we talk over the phone, but you'll still get the odd one who treats us like we're a bloc of the old Soviet Union.

Either that, or they're resentful of it To me, it doesn't matter where the person comes from...as long as they know what they're doing...I don't care
