"None of us really believed her, but she started describing the colors surrounding various ones of us and making remarkably accurate statements about our personalities that she COULD NOT have known, seeing as how she'd only been around us for an hour."

Not saying people can read auras and not saying they can't. Just saying I can "know things", too. And I can do it in less time than an hour.

I'm not psychic. I can't read auras, I don't have any strange power.

I'm just a damn good non-gifted fortuneteller. You don't have to have any particular gifts to know things about people. It's a skill any one of you working with the public could hone to a razor's edge if you worked at it.

And to you SCA-Rennie types out there who might encounter me dukkering in my little green vardo sometime, do me a favor and shhhhhh. If you mention this conversation, I'll deny it.

OK, I don't think she has weird powers, etc. I'd feel annoyed for no other reason than having to spend 45 minutes rearranging books in bags, and that would be true of that kind of interaction with any person.
Exactly what I was thinking. There's nothing mysterious about feeling cranky after dealing with an SC of this magnitude.

Potplants will enhance everyone's aura, I'm sure. Everyone will be feeling really gooood........man.......
"Pot plants" are how the folks in the UK refer to what Americans call "potted plants" or "house plants". Like ferns, ivy, etc. Not the illegal stuff. One of the many British/American miscommunications that can cause much unintentional hilarity.

Salt is good. You can buy a cleansing spray that would be safe to use at work, as long as you don't spray it directly on books. I bought some at a local health food store that carries a few new age items, but a lot of pagan/witchcraft stores carry it. You can buy different brands online. The one I bought combined sage and cedar and left a nice fragrance behind. It worked really well at clearing my office at my old building on the haunted floor. I also took loose sage and sweetgrass (a combination that works well for me) and spread it on top of high objects where most people couldn't normally see.

I would have exorcised her. I don't precisely know how but I would learn, dammit. Preferable Buddhist monk style so you could physically slap one of those paper seals on her forehead when she came to the counter. Then you could make an elaborate series of hand seals until she shrieks and runs out of the store.

I wear a silver chain with a (silver)wire-wrapped hematite stone on it. I also wear a Chinese chi-coin (yang side up, ALWAYS) on the pendant above the stone, since both were gifts from very close friends. I've since found out that hematite provides a lot of natural grounding and defuses negative energy extremely well, and the coins are used for luck and protection against harm. It's cross-discipline, but it seems to work VERY well for me in stopping the malaise I pick up when I'm in an area that's full of bad vibes from affecting me. Something similar might work just as well for you.

                      Oh HELL no.

How dare someone goes around with that type of power. I am THE ONE, damnit!

It would be amusing to face this woman own. The rest of you might want to duck and cover, as everything electrical in the building will spark, short out, or explode.

I'm not quite sure where I stand in believing in auras and psychic powers. I've scared the piss out of several of my psychic friends when I've dabbled in it in a flight of fancy, and I've had numerous people try to recruit me to various covens, saying I could become an extremely powerful warlock. A girl I went out with was told by her group to make a choice between either them or me because they were actually scared of me.

One day, I was with her and two of her friends came along when we went shopping. Somehow, I knew what they were doing. The three of them decided to try and mess with me, and I did feel it. I can't explain it. Even though I felt what they were doing, I was able to shrug it off with absolutely no effort whatsoever. Afterwards, they had no desire to even be in the same room as me because they were scared. Needless to say, we broke up.

I DO have a tremendous amount of willpower that I earned, and am very proud of. I broke my neck when I was 14, and had to spend months learning to walk again. I fought with everything I had to get that back, and I have an inner confidence and willpower that everyone sees in me, ESP or no. Every so called psychic I have met has either been terrified of me or totally shocked. I don't know if THAT'S what people pick up on or not.

I DO believe the body has its own energy that can be harnessed and controlled, and I learned to do that flawlessly when I was in the hospital bed. I still do when I meditate. Maybe the way I see it is the same thing others see, without me realizing it?

Blueberry, your co-worker is right. She sounds like a Dark Entity (read Sylvia Browne, it'll all become clear).

Stay away from her if you can. She will suck the will out of you and leave a bad mojo smear on your mind that will take a long time to get rid of.

That makes sense to me. Developing an inner strength and confidence is (IMO) likely to show through - whether you believe in body language, auras, or whatever.

Kus and I should probably not be in the same room together. When I get really angry, things start to break, especially electronic things. Lights go out, computers start freaking, cell phones spasm, etc.

However, when I'm in a good mood, everything works for me. I can get old, balky computers and printers to work when no one else can. Someone will have a cell phone problem and as soon as I hold it it starts working again.

My husband is 6'3", I'm 5'8", he swears that when I am really angry I can look straight into his eyes without standing on tiptoe.

A friend I used to work with was really good at seeing and clearing auras. Whenever she and I were together we either had the greatest time or gave each other headaches.

I'll refer to it as magic(k), only because it's simpler, although I believe that it's physics, but I think we have the power to alter our reality to some extent; some of us, especially someone like Kusanagi who has fully meditated and learned how to see the world truly, and not as we think it is, has a much greater strength in this ability.

You cause electronics to break? Freaky. I have the ability to sense electronic devices, especially some of the older ones. Like, even if the volume is muted completely on a TV anywhere in the house, I can tell if it's on. Same with a computer monitor or anything with a CRT.

Whenever something like that switches on, it causes me alot of pain if I'm near it. I remember one time I was in the school computer lab when the teacher hit the switch to turn on all 50 iMacs at once. I passed out instantly and woke up in the nurses office.

                                really creepy

Man, that...thing...in human guise sounds really creepy. I got goose bumps just reading the post. I don't think I'll ever be sensitive to energy or see auras or anything like that. The only thing I've ever really had was over charged empathy. I always know when something is wrong with someone, even if no one else does. I also know when something has happened to someone close to me. My husband got brained by some metal shelving and I knew when it happened. I didn't know what it was but i knew something was wrong and called him at work to check on him. Other than that, I have dreams sometimes of stuff that'll happen a couple of weeks later but its all normal, everyday stuff. Normally, it revolves around something that will happen at work or while I'm out.
